I have somewhat mixed feelings about M&S these days.



On the one hand, the Food Hall is excellent. You really can’t fault the quality of their produce, and the "Dine In" meal deals are still good value for a Friday night treat. I popped in to grab some sourdough and a rotisserie chicken, and as always, the food was fresh and delicious.



However, the clothing section is looking increasingly dated. I had a browse through the womenswear department hoping to find a new coat, but the styles felt very "frumpy" and uninspired. They seem to be struggling to decide who their target audience is. That said, their underwear and socks are still the best on the high street—they last for years.



The self-checkout machines were a bit temperamental, which was annoying, but the staff were polite enough when I asked for help. It’s reliable for the basics and fancy snacks, but I wouldn't rush there for fashion. A bit steep price-wise, too.

I honestly don't know what I'd do without their Food Hall. Yes, you pay a little bit more than at the budget supermarkets, but the difference in quality is night and day. The fruit actually lasts, and their 'Gastropub' ready meals are a lifesaver on a Friday night when I can't be bothered to cook. Plus, the staff at my local branch are always so polite and helpful. It’s just a reliable, pleasant shopping experience every time.

Marks & Spencer is my absolute favorite store for both food and clothing. The food hall is always immaculate, with fresh fruit, vegetables, and bakery items that taste amazing. Their meal deals are fantastic value, especially when I’m looking for something quick but still tasty and healthy. I also love their women’s clothing section — stylish yet practical pieces that actually last longer than fast fashion brands. I don’t mind paying a little more because the quality really shows.

M&S has its strengths, but I feel it’s a bit overpriced compared to other retailers. Their food is excellent — no doubt about that — but I can’t do a full weekly shop there without spending far more than at Tesco or Sainsbury’s. The clothing section feels a bit old-fashioned at times, though they do have good basics. I shop here occasionally, but not regularly.

While the clothing prices are higher than Primark, the durability and style are definitely worth it. The food section is also a treat — their desserts are incredible. I wouldn’t say it’s the cheapest shop, but for special occasions, M&S is my first choice.

I also like their homeware section — the towels and bedding I bought last year still feel brand new. Marks & Spencer is a brand I completely trust.

Very poor experience at my local M&S store. The staff seemed uninterested and rude when I asked for help finding a product. The store was messy, with empty shelves and long queues at the checkout. I expected much better from a brand with such a reputation. Honestly, I left frustrated and disappointed. I don’t see myself shopping there again anytime soon.

They also last through endless washes, which is a big plus for busy parents. The food is amazing too, though I can’t afford to shop there weekly. For me, M&S represents quality and reliability.

I don’t understand the hype around M&S. I went into their food hall expecting something extraordinary, but it felt overpriced and limited. The selection wasn’t as big as I thought it would be, and the products didn’t seem worth the cost. Maybe I went in with too high expectations, but I walked out unimpressed. For me, it’s not the place for regular shopping.
